Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is a city of exploration and discovery, and one of the oldest cities in the world. Explore and get lost wandering around Lisbon's old neighbourhoods (Alfama), and visit great monuments that have survived years of history, including a major earthquake, such as the Carmo Convent (top right picture) and the Monastery of Jerónimos (bottom right picture).

Another place of interest is the Castle of São Jorge located at a hilltop overlooking the historic centre of Lisbon and the Tagus River.

A magnificent view can be seen at the top of the Lisbon park (Eduard VII park), the Tagus River at the back and the Castle of São Jorge on the top left of the picture.

Several groups also offer free walking tours around the city of Lisbon, and beyond, such as small beautiful towns of Sintra (below on the left) and Cascais (below on the right).
